YWPN Difference
Academic Preparation
YWPN’s ultimate goal is to ensure 100% of YWPN students attend and graduate from college. Teachers are purposefully focused on high quality practices and instructional strategies, and our schools offer a challenging college preparatory curriculum that has proven to elevate expectations and accelerate educational performance among students. Through grants and donations, YWPN facilitates programs to enrich students’ educational experiences. These year-round programs are inclusive of critical areas, such as summer learning enhancements with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

There is a significant focus on the social/emotional and physical development of the girls with purposeful curriculum and strategies designed to promote personal self-care. Students participate in programs, on and off campus, that emphasize and support the importance of having a balanced life. Areas of focus include time management, stress management, daily physical activity, and maintaining an appropriate nutritional diet, with the ultimate goal of teaching girls to make smart choices and practice a healthful and safe lifestyle.
College Advising
YWPN ensures that every girl will attend college, each campus is staffed with a full-time College Success Advisor to help students and their parents understand and navigate the college admission process. This work is supported through the YWPN College Success Initiative and a robust menu of academic programs and services. As part of YWPN’s College Success pillar, students benefit from a strong academic foundation through advanced coursework, STEM programs, and innovative instructional practices. Each campus features a College Success Advisor, year-round enrichment, academic support systems, and high-stakes testing preparation.
STEM Focus
YWPN develops programs and partnerships to enhance the school district STEM curriculum at our network schools. We give our girls the opportunity to engage in authentic, real-world learning experiences, as well as providing a strong STEM focus within the school classroom. The students are provided with opportunities to participate in Robotics teams and competitions, technology classes and after-school activities, STEM focused summer learning programs, and off-campus STEM education. STEM teachers are also provided with professional development opportunities to enhance their teaching methods. These programs are designed to spark our girls’ interest in STEM subjects and possible careers in these fields.
Community Partnerships
YWPN works with community partners through public–private school management agreements under Texas SB 1882, collaborating with districts to operate all-girls, public college-preparatory schools. We partner with local businesses and nonprofits to provide internships, real-world experiences, and project-based learning. Civic groups like the Junior League host student celebrations, while donors support college scholarships and mentoring. YWPN also collaborates on STEM challenges and leadership institutes and engages community leaders on school advisory councils and governing boards. These partnerships enrich student learning and strengthen YWPN’s mission to empower young women across Texas.
Leadership Development
YWPN’s educational plan emphasizes leadership development that awakens and strengthens the moral compass within each of our students. Students develop leadership skills and learn the value of collaboration through experiences that prepare them to thrive in a global society. Opportunities include leadership programs, professional internships, and mentorship from community leaders. Service-learning and community service foster civic responsibility, while summer enrichment builds confidence and initiative. Peer tutoring and mentoring promote teamwork, and self-advocacy development equips students to speak up for themselves. Together, these experiences empower students to lead, connect, and compete in an increasingly interconnected world.
