KATE WILLIAMSON

Kate Williamson of Midland is the President of BHG, a consultancy geared toward political advocacy, fundraising, and campaigns. She has worked for both United States Congressman Mac Thornberry and Congressman Randy Neugebauer in their federal offices and as a consultant to Thornberry’s campaign operation since 2008. Her passion for public policy began in college with an internship with Speaker Pete Laney in Austin in 2001.

Williamson is actively involved in the Midland community. She currently serves as Vice Chair of Advocacy for the Midland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In 2016, she helped form the Midland Students First Political Action Committee, a PAC dedicated to electing strong, reform-minded School Board members. As part of the PAC, Kate has volunteered her time and consulted on the campaigns of 4 current MISD school board members, including 2 runoff elections. She also assisted Sharla Hotchkiss and Laura Nodolf with grassroots campaign efforts during their respective campaigns.

She was appointed by Mayor Jerry Morales to sit on the City of Midland Hotel Motel Tax Committee. In 2015, she was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the Texas OneStar National Service Commission Board.

Kate is also involved in the vibrant philanthropic community of the Permian Basin. She is Chair of the High Sky Children’s Ranch Board, sustaining member of Junior League of Midland, and former associate teaching director of the After School Kids Community Bible Study. She was 2014 Chairwoman of the March of Dimes Tour De Vine event in Midland, and the 2016 Chairwoman of the Crystal Ball Gala. She serves on the Board of the Minuet Club of Midland.

Williamson grew up in Vernon, TX, graduated from the Hockaday School in Dallas, and graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, with a minor in Political Science. She lives in Midland, with her husband Clint, and their 2 children.
