[Karla] Garcia, 22, displays a deep understanding of the DISD policies and strategies that have led to success in the schools in her district. She supports the teacher pay-for-performance system, TEI, and early college high schools as drivers of recent improved outcomes.
This first-generation college student attended the all-girls Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She now works to get high school students into college for Dallas County Promise.
