Dana Clark teaches middle school science at Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School. Clark is the 2015 Dallas ISD Teacher of the year for secondary magnet/special schools.

Parents can be involved in their child’s future education by helping them research college choices and getting involved in the college search and application process.

Using email is usually the easiest way to communicate but be patient with the teachers. They want to respond as soon as possible; however, it is hard with our class schedule to respond during instructional time. As this is the case, please allow teachers 24 hours to answer.

Students can complete homework but fail to bring it to school the next day. It is a beneficial part of their routine for the child to pack their backpack before they go to bed so the work is ready to go to school the next day.
