(Dallas, Texas, February 24, 2016) – Fort Worth’s Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA), a partner school of the Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN) and part of the Fort Worth ISD, will graduate its first class this June. To celebrate this milestone, the Foundation for the Young Women’s Leadership Academy of Fort Worth, which supports YWLA, will host an event on Friday, March 4 called GEMS Rocks to honor this inaugural graduating class.

The Dallas Women Lawyers Association’s sponsored a “Law and Leadership Symposium” for students at Dallas ISD’s Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School. The Jan. 23 event, held at the University of North Texas School of Law, featured “speed mentoring” by experienced women lawyers and law students.
Lynn McBee is both. She moved to Dallas after graduating from the University of Texas with a biochemistry degree almost 25 years ago, and has been a philanthropic force in the community ever since, her board service totaling 26 different nonprofits and organizations. The two worlds – philanthropy and science – have collided in unexpected ways for her.
